“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” – Coco Chanel
Fashion is shaped and influenced by the society and events which surround it.
1920s fashion is still famous because it was a huge shift from the previous era; women shocked their men as the hemlines gradually rose, reaching the predominantly mid twenties flapper style.
The American dream dominated an age rich in entertainment, full of crime and prohibition. Makeup became popular and the hairstyles became shorter. The notorious flapper girl is known by all and the short sleek hair, above the knee straight shift dress and the boyish figure will never fail to be remembered.
